It's tough to feel like you're unloved.

I'd felt loved for some time now, cared about and perhaps a bit pampered to a point that I felt more secure than I should have, though of course this is the point where you need to begin worrying about things.

As it turned out, the sweet, loving, tender boyfriend I'd doted on for so long was cheating on me, and to be honest I didn't have a clue what to do about it. Leaving felt almost as difficult as staying, and so for some time I foolishly pretended as though nothing was wrong.

And then one day, I just couldn't take it anymore.

My life was passing me by as I waited around for someone who would never truly love me, and it was then that I decided to cut and run.

I burned off into the night, driving like a maniac for refuge elsewhere, leaving my old life behind and trading my pain in for something completely new and unknown.

It was the middle of the morning when I pulled in at an open, but apparently abandoned gas station, sifting through the empty aisles as though I was the last girl on Earth.

As I was waiting to make my purchase at the place, however, searching wildly for a cashier, I couldn't help but notice a green pair of eyes flashing in at me from the outside world.

A werewolf...

I ran for my life, scrambling through the aisles as though set alight with fire, only to come crashing down to a halt against the glass of the drink coolers, thinking my life was a thing long done and over.

Only my guest's intentions may not have been as vicious as I originally perceived...
