Laura Canning is an Irish writer and editor based in London. Her first novel Taste the Bright Lights was published to high critical acclaim in March 2008; its second edition was published in November 2010 and it was longlisted for the Mslexia Children's Novel Competition 2012. 

Laura is also a journalist with dozens of publishing credits in Irish and UK newspapers including the Guardian - samples of her published pieces are available to view at her website lauracanning.net. She is a member of the NUJ and an Associate member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders.

Laura has written a full-length and completed screenplay of Taste the Bright Lights and is currently completing her second novel, due out in 2014. She is also a content writer and blogger for an award-winning travel website based in London.
