About the author

Warren Adams-Ockrassa

Born in Washington, DC, I wisely escaped the trap of lobbyists and political encrustation by moving, before I was a year old, to Alameda. Well, it was my parents who moved, but I came along for the ride. This was only a few years before Watergate brought an end to Nixon, all of which I was well clear of. Good thinking, eh?

Since then, I've moved a few other times and am currently located in northern Arizona, and I've explored my own sexual orientation and identity and realized (1) I wasn't as gay as I thought; and (2) while I am a cis male, I'm considerably more comfortable writing from a feminine point of view than almost any other. I suppose that suggests a certain degree of empathy with women, which is good, as I am married to a woman and we have an infant daughter.

Past gigs have included a history in video production, specifically as an editor; software writing, primarily for education purposes; and visual-media production, advertising, and art direction in the healthcare market.

On the writing front, my influences include (but are not limited to) Samuel R. Delany, Ursula K. Le Guin, James Tiptree, Douglas Adams, Ray Bradbury, and Terry Pratchett; other writers I admire deeply include Neil Gaiman, Catherynne Valente, Nisi Shawl, and Nnedi Okorafor.
