Phyllis H. Moore enjoys writing in the Southern Gothic genre with setting in Texas and characters flawed and sometimes humorous. Her favorite contemporary authors are Fannie Flagg, Rebecca Wells, and Kathryn Stockett. Non-fiction writers she enjoys reading, include Rick Bragg and Jeanette Walls.
Phyllis' stories might include some paranormal, big old houses in secluded areas, and usually a dog, maybe a cat. The spiritual life of the characters addresses their yearnings and desires to find themselves in their sometimes tragic circumstances.
Phyllis enjoys reading, writing, gardening, travel and visiting her adult children, Phillip, Sarah and Walter on Galveston Island, Texas. She lives on a small ranch in South Texas with her husband, Richard, and their adopted terrier, Ollie Bubba. She also appreciates a feral, gopher-eating cat, Pippi.
