A very pregnant "Mother Min Pin" escapes from her abusive home - known to be on the "wrong side of town" - to a place only marginally better. Mother Min needs to ensure that her unborn puppies will lead a better life. But things don't always work out as planned.

Tom, an unemployed Construction Foreman and his wife, Rose, have only her part-time income on which to survive. The battle begins over whether they can afford to keep the Miniature Pinscher - or not.

Shortly thereafter and much to Tom's annoyance, Rose falls in love with one of Mother Min's very special puppies, whom she names Minnie. Meanwhile, Tom is unwittingly falling in love himself...

Christmas is just around the corner, and now the fate of the dogs are in the hands of Glenmere town's Animal Shelter.
