It still felt like I was dreaming, at least at first. A soft sort of pressure had come over me, a creeping sensation of warmth, of someone else's presence. I was not alone. Impossible, of course, but one didn't argue with dreams. I was still flat on my back, buried beneath my sheets, though after a moment I felt them shift, dragging across the skin of my chest.

Fingers were on my face, feeling the rough stubble, and it was then I opened my eyes. The room was still dim, lit only by the moonlight filtering through the curtains. A face was above my own, pale, with high cheekbones and a soft, generous mouth.

A scar meandered down his face, from the bridge of nose, under one dark blue eye, across his cheek. I had seen that before. My heart tried to stop. My mouth, no doubt, had formed a shocked O-shape.

"Wha-?" I tried to speak, but my words were stolen from me as his lips touched mine, taking away my breath. His fingers had slid upwards from my chin, to smooth back the hair above my ears. I realized that feeling of pressure was his weight, balanced over my prone form on his knees. Somehow he had crept over me without my knowledge, crouched over me like some incubus while I slept. The damnable part of it was that I was starting to not mind..
