David J Cooper was born in Darlaston, West Midlands, to a working class family. After leaving school he had jobs ranging from engineering to teaching. He got involved in local politics and became a councillor in 1980. He went to live in Brixham, Devon in the late 1980's. He moved to Mexico in 1998 where he still lives with his three dogs, Chula, Sooty and Benji. He started writing in the 1980's after interviewing Lynn McGranger from the Australian soap opera Home and Away when she was appearing in pantomime in Torquay, Devon. His interview with her was published in People's Friend. He met Ginger Rogers personally in 1969 when she was appearing in Mame in London's West End. He has been married twice and has a daughter by his first marriage. He concentrates mainly on writing about the paranormal and crime. Apart from writing he likes to travel and has visited many places all over the world. Now retired, he hopes to return to live in England.
