Dan Phalen authors fiction about women in Sumerian history. Married to a strong woman, he decided to investigate feminist cultures from the distant past, particularly shifts between matricentric and patriarchal cultures. His Sumerian Chronicles trilogy resulted.

After a successful career in Information Technology, he turned to full-time writing. He sometimes swaps a computer keyboard for a synthesizer to compose contemporary jazz.
