<p>Barbara Garrett began writing stories and poems when she first learned to pick up a pencil. Her dreams of being a published author stayed with her all her life.</p><p>She became a teacher and spent the majority of her 32 year career working as a homebound teacher for Fort Worth Independent School District in Fort Worth, Texas. She taught children who were too ill to attend school.</p><p>Barbara always felt she learned as much from her students as they learned from her.
